Paul Phillips Obituary

Paul Raymond Phillips, 53, 4600 Sue Ellen Ct. Greensboro, NC lost a long courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer on August 7, 2025 surrounded by family. He was born in Norwich CT on May 3, 1972 to Robert and Harriet Phillips.

He attended the Helen Baldwin School in Canterbury until 1986 and Ellis Tech in Danielson, graduating in 1990.

He married Jan (Przygoda) Phillips on September 6, 1998. Together they shared a love of travel. Their happy place was Daufuskie Island, SC where Paul hoped to live out his retirement together.

Paul loved hot rods, big rigs (especially "cabovas"), collecting pottery, art, colorful glass and paperweights, gardening and music. He was always larger than life and it wasn't a party until Paul showed up! Paul was always quick to make you feel at home and like he had known you his whole life. Right now in Heaven, he is probably sitting around a bonfire telling stories with a rum and diet coke in his hand.

Paul is survived by his wife Jan, mother Harriet Phillips, brother Michael Phillips (Tracy), children Cheyenne (Cody) and Shane (Jaci), stepsons Zachary, Nicholas, Austin (Danilsa) and Casey (Jamie), grandchildren Chloe, Mia, Riley and Wyatt, nieces Kasey (Ethan) and Randi, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins that he loved dearly.

Paul was pre-deceased by his father Bob, uncle Bert, aunt Jeannette, cousin Bert Jr., both sets of grandparents and his in-laws.

A celebration of life will be held for Paul in both NC and CT at a later date. Please consider making a donation in his memory to PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) or Project Purple to help fight pancreatic cancer.

So many memories of time spent with Paul and the family. Fires, BbQs, fireworks, visiting in NC. Christmas Eve. So many laughs. Paul was a regular guy, unpretentious. He always seemed to be happiest when with his family. I will miss your cabovers and seeing pictures of you and Jan on the island. Until we meet again.
Jan, Harriet and family my sincere prayers and condolences are with you all.

Mr. Philips you were an incredible man who I'm so grateful for. I remember the times around the fire just laughing until late at night. You saved truly helped me through my teenage years, and made a big impact on them. I'll always hold on to those memories forever. I love you, and thanks for showing me what it was like to have a great father.

We are so sorry for your loss and ours,we took Paul and Mike to many Car shows and cruise,so in the earlier years . He was like a son to Ann and I. He would come over to the garage when I was cleaning the 57 chev and would ask where are you going today I would tell him then asking he was interested in going along ,He and Mike kept Cheri company and she did not mine the Car shows as much , they were always well behaved and a help! Going to miss Him Uncle Ron & Aunt Ann

Missing you like crazy. You were the love of my life, my best friend, the one I wanted to share my whole life with. When I look down the road, I can't see me without you there by my side. I will take it day by day and show the same strength that you showed in this past year as you battled cancer. I can't answer why it had to be you but I can be thankful for the years and the memories we shared.
