Scott was a founding member of the Clinical Psychology Program at UNCG. When I arrived at UNCG in 1983, he was quick to welcome me. I appreciated that welcome and can honestly say that Scott maintained his warm and friendly style, always showing interest in others throughout the 26 years that our careers overlapped. Scott made many valuable contributions to the clinical skill development of dozens of students. He engaged in lively discussions of his work and enjoyed the opportunity to share his expertise with others. Even after his retirement, Scott generously devoted some time to sharing this expertise freely with our students. Scott was warm, kind, friendly, generous, devoted and caring. You never felt like an outsider in his presence. He often brought grapes from his harvests and wine that made to share with others. His smile was contagious and he always found things to smile about! He was a positive influence within the department, both personally and professionally.
My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

I was a student of Scott´s at UNCG in the middle 1970´s. He was a wonderful soul with a ready smile and great sense of humor. Scott was there for the students and we felt that support from him. I returned to UNCG at the end of my career as a psychologist in 2013 as director of the psychology clinic. Scott was still coming in periodically to continue teaching and supporting students. What a gift he was for all of us who came through the psychology department.
My condolences to his family. I am sure his life was a gift to you all as well.
