Phyllis Collins Obituary
Phyllis Goins Collins, 88, a resident of Greensboro passed away peacefully at Beacon Place on Saturday, December 21, 2024. She was born on March 6, 1936, in Rockingham County the daughter of Charlie Henry and Mary Rhoda Malloy Goins.
She retired from P. Lorillard with 26 years of service. Phyllis spent her retirement years taking care of family and friends. She was very dedicated to this activity. She will be fondly remembered for all her tireless efforts and assistance in this endeavor. She also enjoyed family trips to the beach and watching old movies on Turner Classics Movie Channel.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Wanda Collins; her grandson, Justin Tyler Freeman; and her siblings.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Larry O. Collins; and her great-grandson, Banjo Freeman.
A Celebration of Life Service for Phyllis will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday December 31, 2024 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Sedgefield Chapel, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Michael Yandell. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 p.m. to the service time.
Phyllis was a member of First Christian Church, 1900 West Market St. Greensboro, NC 27403, and the family request that memorial gifts be made in her memory to them.

I haven't seen Phyllis in many years, but I remember that she always had a warm smile and sweet spirit about her, always encouraging in her conversations. Phyllis and Larry were friends and traveling companions of my dad Roy Jones and his wife Susie for many years. God's blessings of peace and comfort to you Larry.
