STONEVILLE Ruby Greene Noonkester, 81, formerly of Stoneville, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 12, 2017 at Avante Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Overlook Cemetery. Ruby was born in Union County, SC on April 11, 1936, the daughter of Stephen F. Greene and Mary Etta Cooper Greene, both deceased. She was a retired private duty caregiver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Noonkester and her son, John Noonkester. Ruby is survived by her sons, Eddie Noonkester of Eden, Wesley Noonkester and wife Janice of Georgia; her sister Shirley Broome of Eden; her nephew that she claimed as her son, Eugene Broome of Stoneville; her grandchildren, Kristen Noonkester, Jana Burns and husband Jeremy, Diana Berry and husband Homer, Hannah Cox and husband Brian; and her great grandchildren, Christopher, Luke, Presley and Kennedy. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside. Memorial contributions may be directed to New Beginnings Church, 486 NC 700, Eden, NC 27288. Boone & Cooke, Inc.
