Stephen Carbone (Steve), 71 of Greensboro, NC passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025 at Cone Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born on April 21, 1954, In Brooklyn, NY to Alexander Carbone and Anne Bottoni Carbone. Steve grew up on the streets of Brooklyn and earned an associate degree. He worked as a Nuclear Medicine Technician for 40 years. He and his wife, Irene, moved to Greensboro in 1991 where they raised their son.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Ann Carbone; sister, Susan Bowman; and brothers-in-law, Paul Bowman & Sal Cannizzaro. He is survived by his wife, Irene Carbone; his son, Stephen Edward of Greensboro; his sister, Janet Cannizzaro; his brothers, Charles Carbone (Debra) and Robert Carbone; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Music was such an integral part of Steve's entire life and source of enjoyment as well as comfort. Steve was loved by a large network of friends and extended family and his witty sense of humor will be missed.
A celebration of life will be held in Steve's honor at a later date in New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Teach Rock.org, World Central Kitchen, or the organization of your choice.
