SUMMERFIELD SUSIE SHELTON Wall passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Beacon Place.A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Guilford Memorial Park on High Point Road.Mrs. Wall was born on October 6, 1922 to Mamie Ruth Arnder Shelton and Jessie Noel Shelton. She lived most of her life in Summerfield. In 1941, she married Carl Milton Wall. In her early working years, she was employed with Mock Judson Hosiery, Kayser Roth, and Greensboro Manufacturing as an inspector. She later became a fulltime homemaker and mother to three children. She was a longtime member of Morehead United Methodist Church where she served on various committees, including Meals on Wheels and caregiver groups. She loved to sew and spent many wonderful hours at her machine making clothes and quilts for her family.She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Wall; three daughters: Billie Chandler, Betty Kirkman, and an infant daughter; sisters Mary Banks, Elizabeth Beasley, and brother Jack Shelton.Surviving are one daughter, Judy Burroughs and husband, Doug, of Summerfield, grandchildren, Gina Voliva and Mark Kirkman, great-grandchildren Chandler Voliva, Cameron Kirkman and Abby Kirkman, a brother Noel Shelton and wife Erma, one sister Kay Salisbury, sister-in-law Lana Bednar, son-in-law Gilbert Kirkman, step-grandchildren Kelly Alston and Doug Burroughs, Jr., and step-great-grandchildren Sam and Erin Alston and Megan and Jackson Burroughs.Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Beacon Place, 2502 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.Forbis & Dick Brooke Chapel is serving the family and on-line condolences may be offered at www.forbisanddick.com.
