ROBBINS Wallace Reid Edwards, age 85, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017, at St Joseph of the Pines, surrounded by his family. Wallace was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a native of South Carolina. He will be forever remembered for his warm, sweet nature and compassionate, gentle spirit. He always open-minded and welcoming towards others, making those around him always feel at ease. He was naturally selfless and kind, and his faith was apparent in all that he did. He loved the Lord, his family, and his church. He served Robbins First Baptist Church as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and in many other ways. Throughout his life, family came first, and he was loved and respected by his family. He and his wife, Bobbi, had a deep love for each other for 65 years. He spent as much time with family as he could, and nothing filled him with more joy than being surrounded by his wife, siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His family was everything to him. Wallace also worked tirelessly throughout his life. He had a long career of over 36 years, with Milliken, Inc. He attended night school to become an Industrial Engineer with Milliken and rose all the way to Plant Manager before he retired. Wallace then started his own Textile Consulting Firm, where he assisted plants across the country in effective practices. He never stopped wanting to make things better. He was a son of the late James Hoyt and Irene Reid Edwards and was preceded in death by grandson Wade Edwards. Wallace is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Catherine "Bobbi", of the home; sons: John Edwards, of Chapel Hill, Blake Edwards, of Fuquay Varina; daughter: Kathy Frankel and husband Steve, of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren: Cate Edwards and husband Dr. Trevor Upham, Dr. Michael Taylor and wife Shannon, Julianne Taylor, Patricia Edwards, Emma Claire Edwards, Jack Edwards, Quinn Hunter, Adam Frankel; great grandchildren: Sophia and Waylon Taylor, and Wade Upham; brothers: James Hoyt Edwards, Carl Edwards, Dale Edwards, Gerald Edwards. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Robbins First Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Reverend Danny Meeze and Reverend Kenneth McNeill officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date in Oconee Memorial Gardens, Seneca, SC.
