William Rudd Obituary
January 11, 1926 - October 3, 2023
William G. Rudd, Jr., 97 formerly of Eden, NC passed away Tuesday October 3rd, 2023 at Brookdale of Reidsville.
A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday October 7th at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery.
William was born January 11, 1926 to the late William G. Rudd, Sr. and Lelia McKinney Rudd in Monticello, Guilford County NC. After his discharge from service in the United States Army, William completed his degree from Elon University. He then moved to Eden where he was a long time member of the Kiwanis and a volunteer with Hospice. William retired from Duke Power and later retired from Rockingham Insurance Agency where he was co-owner.
Surviving him are his son William G. Rudd, III and wife Beverly of Rock Hill, SC, daughter Carolyn Rutledge and husband Mike of Reidsville, NC, son Jay Bondurant and wife Lisa of Forest, VA, granddaughters Elizabeth Rutledge of Piney Flats, TN and Hannah Bondurant of Baltimore, MD and special nieces Ronda Proffit and Sandra Pell. Preceding him in death along with his parents are his first wife Faith E. Rudd, his second wife Romaine S. Rudd, and his sister Fannie M. Rudd.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. The family wishes that memorial donations in his name be made to AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice) 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405, or to Elon University 2600 Campus Box, Elon NC 27244.
