Betty Benfield Obituary
Born in Valley Falls, S.C., she was the daughter of the late George Lewis and Nancy Robinson Payne. Mrs. Benfield was formerly employed with Kreiger Corporation and M-Tex and attended Bethany Baptist Church.
Surviving is a daughter, Vera Dale Conard Scruggs and husband, Steve, of Travelers Rest; sister, Ruth Payne; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandsons.
She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth C. Benfield, Jr.; two sisters, Mary Payne and Stella Payne Laughter; and three brothers, Grady, Edgar and Fred Payne.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will be at 200 Goodwin Rd., Travelers Rest.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 30 Bethany Rd., Travelers Rest, SC 29690 and/or Southern Care Hospice, 6000 Pelham Road, Suite-B, Greer, SC 29615.
