Bill Cawthon Obituary

William "Bill" Claude Cawthon, 83, of 6 Baptist St., died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

Born in Gray Court, he was a son of the late Reeves Cartes and Essie Bagwell Cawthon. Veteran: U.S. Army. Retired: Kendall Company. Member: Pelzer Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are his wife, of the home; daughters, Jean Scroggs of Pelzer, Marilyn Mann of Anderson and Beverly Reeves of Pelzer; sons, Dennis Cawthon and William Claude Cawthon II, both of Pelzer; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Refford L. Cawthon.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, at Gray Mortuary Chapel in Pelzer, conducted by the Rev. Scott Key. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family is at the home, and will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 521 N. McDuffie St., Anderson, SC 29621.
