Carolyn Mitchell Obituary

Carolyn Looper Mitchell, 57, of 117 Shady Lane, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Mitchell was born in Pickens County. She is a daughter of Ben and Kathryn Dickard Looper of Pickens.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church.

She is survived by a loving family and many friends. Beloved wife of Ronald Mitchell; a son, Benjamin Ferguson, and daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Jeff Moon, all of Pickens; a stepson, Kelly Mitchell, of Greer; a granddaughter, Bradlee Moon; sisters, Judy Wood and Gail Grindstaff, both of Pickens; nieces, Ashley Lamb and Graham Sizemore; and a special extended family, Robert and Deedee Green and sons, Alex and Hunter and Stella White.

Mrs. Mitchell was predeceased by a son, Brad Ferguson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation prior to the service, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301.

The family is at the home.
