Cathy Dorchak Obituary

Cathy Louise Dorchak, an unforgettable mother, wife, grandma, sister, daughter, friend and teacher, passed away July 31, 2006.

We will forever cherish her incredible spirit, giving, laughter and joy of life. She lived her life to the fullest, and she will always remain an inspiration to those who knew her. As a teacher at Sagebrush Elementary School in Colorado for more than 20 years, Cathy touched the lives of hundreds of children who each carry a small piece of her legacy.

Her life was celebrated by her immediate family and friends on Aug. 6, 2006 at the Disciples United Methodist Church in Greenville.

Cathy is survived by her mother, Lois Plating of Greenville; her mother-in-law, Sara Dorchak; her husband, Jim Dorchak; her brothers and sister, Larry Plating, Marilyn Fisher, Tom Plating, Steve Plating and Jack Plating of Greenville; her children, Alicia Mourning, Lauri and Dave Scott, Greg Dorchak and Kristin Keegan and Katie and Fred Fisher; her grandchildren, Owen and Andrew Scott, Sara and Lucy Fisher and Charlotte Dorchak; and numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends whose prayers and concerns were thankfully felt throughout her battle.
