Daniel Vaughn Obituary

Daniel Wayne Vaughn, 28, of Taylors, S.C. went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, September 15, 2008.

Daniel was born and raised in Greenville, S.C., the fourth child of Dr. John and Brenda Vaughn.

Daniel was completely devoted to his son, Silas. Nothing brought him more joy than being Silas' Daddy. He will be greatly missed by his closest friend, Ms. Kris Cowen, of Greenville. Those who knew Daniel well will always remember him for his kindness and infectious sense of humor.

He is survived by his son, Silas Elijah Vaughn of Atlanta, Ga.; parents, Dr. John C. Vaughn and Brenda Lyttle Vaughn of Taylors; his brothers and sisters, Deborah Vaughn Locke and husband, Tim, of Bridgewater, N.J., John Michael Vaughn of Lebanon, N.H., Rebecca Morel Vaughn of Taylors, and Joseph Carroll Vaughn and wife, Kimberly, of Taylors; nieces and nephews, Sarah Meyers, Jacob Vaughn, David, Becca, Matthew, and Jonathan Locke; his great aunt, Lila F. Vaughn of Elizabethtown, Ky.; aunts and uncles, Harold and Linda Vaughn of Walton, Ky., Colonel Johnny and Nancy Whitaker of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dora and Paul Sherry of Piqua, Ohio, and Sheila Cline of Troy, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Harold and Morel Vaughn of Jefferson, Ga., Wilma Leonard of Piqua, Ohio and Rev. Bill and Ollie Lyttle of Corbin, Ky.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 500 West Lee Road, Taylors, SC 29687 with interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 19, 2008, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the 'Silas E. Vaughn Scholarship Fund,' 500 West Lee Rd., Taylors, SC 29687
