David Mayes Obituary

Mr. David Mayes of 115 Ladson Street, died Dec. 2007, at his residence.

Born April 21, 1947 in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Rossie D. Mayes and Marion Byrd Mayes.

Mr. Mayes served in the United States Marine Corps and was employed as a detention officer with Pickens County Prison.

Surviving are three sisters, Loretta Mayes of Easley, Elizabeth Chappelle and Stephanie Willeins of Spartanburg; three sons, David Jenkins of Greenville, Cedric of Greenville and Demetrius Nix of Detroit, Mich.; three brothers, Leon Hancock Jr. of Hendersonville, N.C., Frederick and Mark Mayes of Spartanburg; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service: 3 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008, in the Chapel of Clark's Funeral Home. Burial at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
