Emma Jarvis Obituary

Emma Jarvis of Yorktown Condominiums, affectionately know to her friends as "Miss Emma", went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 8, 2007.

Emma was born in Kaufbeuren, Germany, on March 26, 1927. She was a daughter of the late Ludwig and Maria Koch Stintzing. Emma came to the United States after the war, raising a family and working various jobs, until her retirement from the Embers Restaurants. After her retirement, she moved to Greenville to be near her son and his family.

Emma is survived by her son, John, his wife, Cindy and grandchildren, Mike, Bob and Becky Jarvis. She is also survived by a sister, Margret Noris of Luverkusen, Germany; and a niece, Claudia Sichert and her family of Munich, Germany. She was predeceased by a sister; and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at Morningside Baptist Church on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 2 p.m., with visitation following. The family will have a private burial in Germany.

Miss Emma requested no flowers be sent, and that memorials be made to the school that has helped her granddaughter, Becky, along with many other handicapped children, Hidden Treasure Christian School, 500 West Lee Road, Taylors, SC 29687.
