Eunice Horton Obituary
Greenville - Eunice Rice Horton, 92, of Greenville, S.C., died peacefully on January 15, 2018.
Born in Belton, S.C., on December 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Max and Janie Rice. After attending the Belton public schools, she graduated from Converse College in 1947. She married J. Wright Horton, also of Belton, on November 20, 1948, and settled in Greenville, S.C. Her activities as a homemaker and civic leader included community service as a Sunday school teacher and church circle leader, as Vice Chairman of the Christian Women's Club, and as a Board Member of the Greenville Junior League, the Lay Christian Association, the Wildwood Garden Club, and the Greenville County Legal Auxiliary.
Surviving are three sons, J. Wright Horton, Jr. (Beverly) of Herndon, Va., Max Horton (Joan), and Rex R. Horton (Sandra) of Simpsonville, S.C. Also surviving are three granddaughters and their families: Sarah Hidalgo (Jorge) and son Elliott, Renee Horton, and Christin Oney (James) and children Kyleigh and Brexton. Eunice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J. Wright Horton and grandson James F. Horton.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018, in the Belton Cemetery with Rev. Brad Bardin officiating. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service.
