F. Wade Seyle Sr.

Greenville

F. Wade Seyle, Sr., 93, of Greenville, SC and formerly of Savannah, Ga., died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, S.C.

He was born in Savannah, Ga., and was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Seyle and Nellie Bartlette Seyle, his first wife, Kathleen T. Seyle, brother, John H. Seyle, and sister, Nell A. Seyle.

He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the Asiatic - Pacific Theater, was a Captain in the 24h Infantry Division, and received the Bronze Star Medal.

He was a graduate of Clemson University, where he graduated in 1942, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics.

He was a lifelong member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, where he held most every office in the church, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Greenville, SC.

He had previously worked for the Central of Georgia Railway, and then retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1984, where he served as an Economist. He was a member of NARFE.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margie H. Seyle, his children, Mary Ellen Seyle, Wade Seyle (Debbie), Martha Ann Van Hook (Tim), and Rusty Seyle (Stacy), a step daughter, Margaret White, 9 grandchildren, several nieces and several nephews.

Visitation: 2 - 5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel.

Graveside Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, with Rev. Billy Hester, officiating.

Remembrances: McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Ave, Simpsonville, SC 29680; or Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon St, Greenville, S.C. 29605. (1 - 864- 233-6565).
