Neely E. "Gene" Hamilton, Sr., 66, of 885 Brook Road, husband of the late Norma Holbert Hamilton, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011, surrounded by his family at the Hospice House of Laurens County.

Born in Lenoir City, Tennessee, he was a son of the late William A. Hamilton, Sr. and Hannah Bigham Hamilton. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and was a retired truck driver with Wal-Mart.

Surviving are a son, Neely E. Hamilton, Jr. and Angel of Spartanburg; three daughters, Toni H. Quattlebaum and Todd of Callison, Lynn H. Craig and David of Waterloo, and Heather H. Howell and Keenan of Laurens; three brothers, Rev. William A. Hamilton, Jr. of Chandler, TX, Rev. James K. Hamilton of Laurens, and Jack A. Hamilton of Anderson; two sisters, Georgia Brewer and Elizabeth Beaty, both of Clinton; and five grandchildren, Hunter, Areal, Matthew, Gabriel, and Jaden.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Bethel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. James K. Hamilton, Rev. William A. Hamilton, Jr., and Mr. Jack A. Hamilton with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.

Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 pm, Tuesday at The Kennedy Mortuary.

The family will be at the home of his sister, Elizabeth, 187 Edgewood Drive, Clinton.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Laurens County, P.O. Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325.
