Heriberto Sanhueza Obituary

Heriberto Rafael Sanhueza, 85, formerly of Villa Alemana, Chile, died in the Intensive Care Unit of Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville, S.C., at 12:08 a.m. June 2, 2002. Mr.Sanhueza was a native of the city of Concepcion, Chile. He was raised in El Huape, a prairie that belonged to his maternal grandparents, where he developed a great love for nature and animals. Later he married and moved to the city of Limache, where he was an employee of the Eastman Montt Family in La Hacienda of Limache. They raised their children there, and then he became the accountant and CEO of Los Laureles Cooperative of Limache with 1,200 members, where he served until his retirement. "Don Rafael", as he was known, was beloved and appreciated by the whole community. He was a fervent Catholic.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, mother of his children, Fildelina, Bazaes-Mena; a son, Enrique and his wife Stellita; grandchildren, Pablo, Amanda, Solidad, Carla, Emiliano and Maria, of London, England; a son, Rafael and his wife Margaret Pearle; grandchildren, Alejandro Rafael and wife Rebecca, Cristalita Isabella and Hany, Jose Franciso, Diego Sterling, Ginger Lina, Pablo Sebastian and Maximiliano Lorenzo, of U.S.A., Dalton, Georgia; a son, Patricio and his wife Gildaa; grandchildren, Carolina and Andres, of Chile; a daughter, America and her husband Thomas; and grandchildren, Ivan and Tobias, of Sweden.

On Sunday, June 16, a Rosary Mass will be held in the chapel of Willis Funeral Home of Dalton, Ga. at 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 17, 2002, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Dalton, with the Rev. Rafael Carvallo, Deacon, officiating. Burial will be at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, Ga. - Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home in Dalton, Georgia.
