James Howell Obituary

James Clois Howell, 90, of 203 North Ave., died Jan. 13, 2004, at Allen Bennett Hospital.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late Jim and Pearl Wilson Howell, he was a retired employee of Lyman Printing and Finishing and was owner/operator of Howell's Old Timey Antiques.

Surviving are his wife, Louise P. Howell, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Teresa Howell, of Greer; two daughters and son-in-law, Velma H. Tinsley, of Greer, and Sandra H. and Jack A. Marler, of Simpsonville; a brother, Alvin Howell, of Greer; a sister, Frances Smith, of Greer; five grandchildren, Johnny Kemp, of Landrum, Jill McCullough, of Iva, Kim Box, of Maryville, Tenn., Rachel Howell, of Greenville, and Michael Howell, of Taylors; 11 great-grandchildren, Candi Bever, of Mauldin, Stephen Burgess, of Greer, Jon, Jay and Clay Kemp, all of Landrum, Marlee, Jenna and Mark McCullough, all of Iva, Alexandra and Elizabeth Box, of Maryville, Tenn., and Alyssa Lacy, of Dacusville.

Mr. Howell was predeceased by five brothers, Buster, Praelo, Paul, Lyman and Marshall Howell; two sisters, Vivian Mason and Doris Nabors; and a grandson, David Howell.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Wood Memorial Park, conducted by Dr. Fred Brown, Dr. J.T. Cromer and Mr. Jack A. Marler.

The family will be at the home, where they will receive friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greer Community Ministries, P.O. Box 1373, Greer, SC 29652.
