Jann Lesa Ingram-Dyar

Simpsonville

Jann Lesa Ingram-Dyar, wife of Roger D. Dyar, went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2014.

Lesa was born June 21, 1959, in Greenville, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Harry Lee Ingram and Beatrice Cannon Ingram. She was the granddaughter of Dr. John William Ingram and Elizabeth Virginia Sowell Ingram and Edgar Cannon and Evie Newton Cannon.

Mrs. Ingram-Dyar attended Greenville County Schools including Augusta Circle Elementary, Hughes Middle, and Greenville Senior High School. She was a graduate of the Management Science Program at Limestone College.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and volunteer. Lesa was married to Roger Dyar in 1998 and assisted him in the family civil engineering business for several years. She was a former member of the Junior League of Greenville and a volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Carolina, where she served on the Board of Directors. During her working career, Lesa was associated with Merrill Lynch, Dun & Bradstreet, the Greenville News, and Christ Church Episcopal Preschool. She was also an artist and freelance writer for the South Carolina Homes & Gardens Magazine and various other publications. She was a cofounder of the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation, where she served as executive director in the early stages of the organization. In 2000, she organized the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation Women's Festival, one of the first such festivals in the Upstate. She was a dedicated advocate in bringing women's health issues to the forefront.

Lesa is survived by her husband Roger, a daughter, Leanna Beatrice Ingram-Dyar, and a son, Harrison Doyle Ingram-Dyar, all of Simpsonville, SC. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her brother Carl Randolph Ingram of Greenville, SC, and a sister, Hila Ingram Walker of Hilton Head, SC.

She was a Communicant of Christ Church, Episcopal and was active in the Order of St. Luke in the church.

On Friday, May 16 the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. in McCall Parlor at Christ Church Episcopal (10 N. Church Street, Greenville). Memorial services and Eucharist will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Markley Chapel. The Rector Harrison McLeod and the Reverend Jeffrey Meadowcroft will be officiating. The Rev. J. Derrill Smith will assist. The final resting place ceremony will take place in the Christ Church cemetery immediately following the service. A reception will follow the service in the McCall Parlor at approximately 12:00 noon.

Serving as Honorary Escort will be lifelong friends Cathleen Cole Cleaver, Bryan Scott Johnson, James Edward Crane, and Alynder Patrick Doggett.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to all of her caregivers - especially Dr. Larry E. Puls and the staff at the Gynecological Cancer Center of the Greenville Health System. Additionally, the family would like to offer special thanks to Lesa's cousin, Dr. Greg Ingram, a physician with the Duke University Health System. Also, appreciation is offered to special caregivers Ms. Geneva Hendrix, Ms. Wendy South, and the staff of Gentiva Hospice, along with the organization Let There Be Mom.
