Joan Devine Obituary

Joan Devine

Simpsonville - Joan Devine, wife of the late Edward James Devine, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mortimer and Irene Harrington.

Playing the piano and various stringed instruments gave her great pleasure in life. Joan was also a leader at St. Mary's Thursday night prayer group for many years. Her favorite Biblical passage was Jeremiah 32:17.

She is survived by: one daughter, Patrice Devine; three sons, Edward Devine, Jr., Matt Devine and wife, Heather, and Sean Devine; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at St. Paul's Anglican Church. Burial will take place in Graceland East Memorial Park.

It's been decades since I attended church with Joan, but I was just thinking of her the other day, wondering how she was. It saddens me to hear of her passing.
