John Richard "Rabbit" Waddell

Taylors - John Richard "Rabbit" Waddell, 84, passed away on September 11, 2018 at his home.

A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late John S. and Sevena Smith Waddell, he was retired after 29 years of service at Shriners Hospital, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a Hejaz Shriner, a member of Taylors Masonic Lodge #345 and a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dell Boling Waddell of the home; one daughter, Mary Dell Fletcher (Matthew) of Taylors; one granddaughter, Emma Dell Fletcher of Taylors and one sister, Sarah Holland (Jerry) of Sanderson, FL.

Mr. Waddell was predeceased by one brother, Matt Waddell.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Brushy Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robbie Sox.

Visitation will be held 1:30-2:45 p.m. Saturday at the church.

The family is at the home.

Memorials may be made to Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 4999 Old Spartanburg Road, Taylors, SC 29687.
