Kimberley Kirby Obituary

Kimberley Ann Kirby (Lil Kim), 47, of 105 Tinsley Court, died December 11, 2010 at Saint Francis Hospital.
A native of Greenville County, daughter of Norma Jean Pitman Phillips, she was a registered nurse at Greer Memorial Hospital ER and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother, her father, James E. "Jimmy" Phillips of the home; a step-sister, Pam Patterson and her husband, Randy; a niece Ashley Patterson; a nephew Preston Patterson all of Taylors; many special aunts and uncles and loving cousins.
Special thanks to all nurses and CV ICU at Saint Francis Hospital- downtown and to all the doctors and caregivers.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Steve Patton, Rev. Keith Kelly and Chaplain Randy Brookshire. Burial will follow in Graceland West Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Holiday, Adam Holiday, Ryan Norris, Roger Rainey, Randy Wade, Randy Patterson, Jackie Mease, Allen Leppard, Ken Pitman and Terry Brown.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:30 p.m. Monday at Fairview Baptist Church.
The family is at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund, 1300 Locust Hill Road, Greer, S.C. 29651 or Connie Maxwell Children's Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, S.C. 29648.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have very wonderful memories of Kim & I during our high school days & especially from our senior cruise. She was such a great friend & so much fun to be around. Kim was a very special nurse and took care of so many people in Greer. She was always so helpful to me professionally when I came to the ER in Greer to see a patient and also took care of me a couple of times with my parents in the ER. I will never forget what a wonderful nurse and caregiver she was: A very special person. Peace be with you Kim.

I was so sorry to hear about Kim. She was very special to me over the last 40 years, I remember taking her to dance lessons at Lake Forest and baby sitting her, and taking her home and Mrs, Pittman telling me how short my skirts were, and Kim and I would get tickled.... Today your daughter and your mom rejoice , I know your hearts are broken, and this is very hard but our loving Lord Jesus will walk with you daily and give you peace. ABOUT A YEAR AND HALF AGO, KIM WAS WORKING AT THE HOSPITAL ON THE NIGHT SHIFT WHEN JESSIE HAD TO TAKE ME IN ABOUT 4 IN THE MORNING...KIM TOOK CHARGE AND HELPED GET ME THE BEST DOCTOR TO DO MY EMERGENCY SURGERY AND SHE CAME IN AND CHECKED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES AFTER I HAD THE SURGERY. SHE WAS MY FLORENCE NIGHTENGALE, SHE MADE SURE THAT I HAD THE THINGS I NEEDED AND I CAN NEVER FIND THE WORDS TO TELL YOU HOW MUCH I APPRECIATED EVERYTHING.
WE ARE SO THANKFUL TO YOU BOTH, YOU RAISED A WONDERFUL YOUNG LADY AND I KNOW THAT SHE WILL BE TRULY MISSED...BUT SHE IS ON A WONDERFUL JOURNEY NOW, AND SHE KNOWS ONLY PEACE AND HAPPINESS THERE.
