Paul Earl Stegall

Greenville - Paul Earl Stegall, 96, of Greenville, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017, of natural causes.

He was the second son of the late Hovie and Sudie Kay Stegall of Pendleton, SC.

Mr. Stegall was a WWII veteran serving in the 1st Infantry Division throughout North Africa, Sicily and Europe having participated in the D-Day landing on Omaha Beach, June 6, 1944.

He received 7 Bronze Service Stars, a Purple Heart, and France's Legion of Honor in 2009.

He was the owner/operator of three service stations in 33 years, previously working at Judson Mill. He was an usher and deacon of Berea First Baptist Church in Greenville.

Paul leaves behind his loving wife of 69 years, Jean O'Shields Stegall; four children, Phil Stegall (Alice), Alan Stegall (Lori), Kay S. Miller (Richard), and Chris Stegall (Carla); six grandchildren, Anna, Paul, Karen, Mitchell, Elliot and Meredith.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Clarence, Carl and Joe Stegall.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with a funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel.

Burial will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berea First Baptist Church, 529 Farrs Bridge Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
