Rufus Phipps Obituary

Rufus Phipps, 83, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2008, and went to be with his Lord and Savior.

He was the husband of Sybil Fowler Phipps. Born in Johnson City, New York, he was the son of the late Amos Dean Phipps and the late Bessie Crocker Phipps. Rufus was a self-employed construction owner-operator and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Lisa Clark of Nebraska; one son, Jim Phipps and his wife Sharon of Fountain Inn; one brother, Amos Phipps and his wife Joan of Ga.; one sister, Barbara Phiffer of Switzerland; one grandson, Jacob Hoschar of Nebraska.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church. The service will be on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at 1 p.m. in Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
