Sarah Windham Obituary
Marietta, GA formerly Greenville - Sarah (Sally) Bissell Windham, age 93, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018. Born February 14, 1925 in Albany, New York, Sally was the only child of the late William N. Bissell and Helen Salmons Bissell of Albany and Greenville.
Mrs. Windham was educated at The Albany Academy for Girls and Skidmore College in Saratoga, New York and was active in the Greenville Community.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Junior League and the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Windham is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. A.B. Windham Jr. Surviving are her two children, Thomas B. Windham of Marietta, GA., and Sarah W. Hunt, husband Brian, of Marietta, GA as well as six grandchildren: Joshua Hunt, Emily (Clay) Goswick, Katherine Hunt, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Brooks, Rebecca Hunt, and John Hunt. She is also survived by her great granddaughter, Emerson Jane Brooks.
A Memorial Service to honor the life of Mrs. Windham will be held at one o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Harper Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, South Carolina, with Rev. Tim Leslie officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service in the church parlor. Mrs. Windham will be laid to rest in the Blandford Cemetery of Petersburg, Virginia. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests memorials be made to Turner Memorial Fund, First Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. 38762521S

Sally and my mother-in-law, Marilyn Vanvick, were great friends! When they were unable to visit each other, they would talk on the phone. I loved to hear the laughter!
Your mom had a terrific sense of humor and was a delight to be around. She was a good friend to the Vanvicks...
