Steve Swaney Obituary
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Talmadge Swaney and Elizabeth Burger Swaney Boyter, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, the owner of S & W Electrical, and was a member of Poplar Springs Full Gospel Church. Mr. Swaney was a member of the Saluda River Gospel Singers.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Smith Swaney of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Misty Swaney of Reidville and Tanya Allyson Piergiovanni and Israel of Greer; a son, Steve William Swaney Jr. of Taylors; two brothers, Charles Swaney of Woodruff and Pete Swaney of Silverstreet, S.C.; a sister, Diane Phillips of Alabama; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Poplar Springs Full Gospel Church, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Alman. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of his daughter, Tanya Piergiovanni, 100 Hartman Road, Greer.
