With deep sadness we announce that Ann Elizabeth Pampel, "Annie," nee Oppenheim, passed away on August 21, 2022, two weeks shy of her 79th birthday, at the King Street Home in Rye Brook, NY, after a protracted cardiac illness. Annie was a lifelong Greenwich resident and volunteered at Greenwich Hospital for many years. Annie loved reading and writing and wrote two novels. She had a life-long interest in history, especially of the British Monarchy. Annie adored her dogs, Robbie and Clover. She had a passion for flowers and created a magical botanical array of flowers and trees on her property, abutting the Montgomery Pinetum.
Annie was predeceased by her husband, John Byron Pampel. She leaves behind her daughter, Madeline; sisters, Joan, Jane, (Stephen) and Deb; and brothers, Tom (Melanie), John (Xiu) and Rick (Barbara). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved.
Again, with great sadness, we say goodbye and mourn the loss of our dear Annie.
