Anthony Limpe Obituary

Limpe, Anthony T.
Anthony T. (Tony) Limpe, resident of Greenwich since 1984, passed away on Monday, September 14th, 2015. Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Tony was born in Manila, Philippines on July 18, 1934, the son of James and Juana Teh Limpe. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Emily Ting Limpe, his son Stephen, daughter-in-law Tracy, and granddaughters Emily and Alexandra.
Tony came to the US in 1952 to attend Purdue University, graduating in 1956 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. In 1957, he was married to Emily Ting and joined Combustion Engineering. Tony attended school in the evenings and received his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic. In 1962, Tony and Emily settled in Ardsley, NY with their two-year old son, and Tony joined Petro-Chem Development as estimating engineer. Over the next two decades, he worked his way up to General Manager and Emily joined him as VP at the company. Tony purchased the company in 1985 from Midland Ross Corporation, serving as Chairman and CEO until his son Stephen took over as President and CEO in 2003. He remained Chairman until the company's sale to Heurtey Petrochem, a publicly traded French engineering company, in 2008.
Tony most enjoyed spending time with family, working outdoors, enjoying culture and travel with his wife Emily, and playing golf and tennis with friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
A "celebration of life" service will be held in Tony's honor at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 24th, at Indian Harbor Yacht Club, 710 Steamboat Road in Greenwich.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Tony's memory to the Greenwich Library. To leave an online condolence please visit www.leopgallaghergreenwich.com

Dear Stephen & Emily - Extremely sad to hear the bad news. I worked in PCD between 2007 to 2009 & had the privilege to interact with Mr. Limpe. Apart from Technical acumen and willingness to work with own pen & pencil even at that level what I remember & adore is his sharp memory, close business contacts & friendships across the globe & clarity in thoughts - so any and all decisions were given quickly, even when we felt those issues are difficult.

I will always remember him as a LEGEND. RIP.

I & my family members share your grief & sorrow.

My sincere condolences to the family for the loss of your loved one. May prayers strengthen you and memories comfort you, and may our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who loves us, comfort your hearts and "make you firm". (2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17)

Tony was one of the loyal and brave spouses of his wife's circle of friends from MCS. He faithfully attended events, including the annual world music concert at the Motherhouse. He graciously endured the spirited conversations/discussions among women with strong opinions. He took pictures tirelessly in response to a chorus of: Tony, take one with my camera/phone please. He did all that and more with grace and a gentle smile. It has been an honor and privilege to have known Tony and his lovely wife, Emily. May the memories of Tony provide comfort to all. The greens behind the Pearly Gates must be heavenly. Play on Tony, and smile down on us as we remember you. Love and Light.

Dear Mrs. Limpe,
Dear Emily,

Please accept our sincere condolences with the passing away of Mr. Limpe.
We have a great admiration and respect for what Mr. Limpe has achieved in his life and career as a colossal entrepreneur. His accomplishments are really extraordinary, for which he will broadly be remembered and honored.
For us and especially for Jos,my husband, Mr. Limpe was in the first place a warm and amicable person, whom we appreciated very much, and for whom we have the deepest respect e.g. because of his wisdom and trustworthy opinion. Mr. Limpe was a very dependable person, and became more than a good business partner, in fact we view and appreciate him as a very special friend whom we have always been able to count upon!
We feel with you and the whole family! We understand and can witness ourselves how hard it will be to miss such a wonderful person. Please be assured that you remain in our hearts and thoughts, as we will remember our moments with you and Mr. Limpe as very special and dear to us. We hope and trust that reminding these special moments with Mr. Limpe will give all of you some comfort and strength for the future.
We wish you all strength and comfort,

Kind Regards,
