I send my condolences to Barbara´s family, friends and colleagues. She led a generous and brave life. I shared part of that time with her as a fellow teacher at Greenwich High School, and later in meaningful conversations with Barbara at teacher reunions. She has left the world a better place for her presence in it.

Barbara was one of the best teachers I ever had. I was GHS class of 1998, so had her freshman year in 1995. I found some things about school overwhelming and she was patient and would meet with me before school, just to help me in general- not necessarily even for the Social Studies class. Some people just make the world better and she was no doubt one of them!! RIP Mrs. Norrgard

Kristin, Erik, Dwight, Lisa, and Mr. Norrgard. Condolences on the loss of your beautiful mother. Memories of Rocky Point days are so cherished by me and my family, and your Mom was an ever present part of those memories. How lucky we were to have grown up in OG and Rocky Point! Hugs and condolences to you all.

Barbara was the first person to welcome me into the Garden Club of old Greenwich, where she shared her vast knowledge of horticulture and design. Her enthusiasm for the environment inspired many of her friends to focus on good environmental practices. She was always the first to volunteer or to help organize fun activities such as the Memorial Day March or the Mother´s Day plant sale. Old Greenwich benefited greatly by having Barbara Norgard be one of their most dedicated and involved neighbors. I will miss her as a leader, an inspiration to others, and a friend.
