I got to know Debra and her amazing family in the last days of Deb's life. So completely warmed by how beautifully her family cared for her & shared with her and how they supported each other. Her memorial service at First Congregational was a gorgeous tribute to an amazing person who left her mark on this World for good & in some amazing ways. Sarah & David, your tributes touched my heart, David you showed us all how to be brave in your honesty. I feel so privileged to have met this amazing family who reminded me again just how powerful family can be. You were a lucky one Debra and as it turns out - your family was too!

Dear David, Sarah and David, I am so sorry for your loss but gladdened by all the incredible memories you all created together. May they bring you peace and joy in the hard times to come.
I remember Debra well from my years teaching at EJHS/EMS, and in particular the winter when Sarah spent many periods in the library after a bad skiing accident. Sarah and I shared our deep love of books and reading. Our one-on/one exchanges and discussions each day certainly brought me joy, and I think Sarah as well. Debra and I met almost daily as she picked up Sarah, helped gather her things. Drbra exuded an all inclusive bon amie that made everyone around her happy. It was a privilege to know her.
I wish you joy and peace in your remembering and sharing of your lives and hers.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Andre, now in Maine

What a touching and beautiful Memorial Service for Debra today. As I watched it from afar in California this morning I could not help but remember Debi's infectious smile and joyful spirit from our cheerleading days together at Yo-Hi when she was a Sophomore '75 and I was Senior '72. I knew then, that her sparkling personality would take her far and after watching her son and daughter deliver their heartfelt eulogies today, it is gratifying to see her strength, courage, and sheer will is their legacy to carry on, so, to her children who will always carry her in their hearts, as James Taylor would say, "How
Sweet It is To Be Loved By You." Sincere Sympathy to the Silverthorn family,

A bright star has left our view and moves on to shine somewhere else. Love endures.
May God bless all of Debbie´s family.
