Dear Wentzel Family,
Jack was one of my favorite people who worked at the Advocate. He would always support my Literacy Programs with workshops and to my memory, was one of the first to bring the community to the newspaper. He used it as a valuable teaching tool and recognized the need to do so.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. He was a wonderful man and always talked about his family.

To the Family of John Wentzel:
I remember Mr. Wentzel from the days of Camp Chicopee that was run by Mr. Wentzel and Ralph Domino. Both men were teachers at Jullian Curtiss School in Greenwich. This was before the Kindergarten through Eighth grades were changed to the Kindergarten through Sixth grade program. The principal at the time was Franklin O. White. As I remember I always had a good time at the day camp that they had run. Mr. Wntzel had a gray "Willis" Jeep and Mr. Domino had a red Ford Station Wagon. I feel that the children of today are in some ways are too programmed and don't have the "down time" as we had as children. There was never a dull moment with Mr. Wentzel or Mr. Domino. We were either at Binney Park, Scalzi Park, Bruce Park, Tod's Point (Greenwich Point), or the confines of a safe building on rainy days.
