Julie McGrath Obituary

JULIE MARIE MCGRATH - A longtime resident of Riverside passed away on January 9, 2007 at the age of 90. She was born on October 28, 1916 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Henry and Marie Jordan. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 56 years, M. Francis McGrath, in 1995. She worked as a bookkeeper at Fawcett / C.B.S. Publications for many years. Julie loved to spend time with her family and was an avid reader and wonderful cook. Blessed with a very pleasant disposition, she was a very caring and patient person with a smile for everyone. Julie was a beloved mother of Nancy Kavanagh and her husband John of Greenwich, CT, Pat Sobocinski of Woodbury, CT, Marcy Mullin and her husband Bob of Riverside, CT, Marty McGrath and his wife Kathryn of Stamford, CT, Janice Repicci and her husband Dr. Albert Repicci of Riverside, CT. She was a nurturing grandmother to Beth, Ken, Jay, Jim, and Mark Kavanagh, Stacey Bassett, Tara Pollio, Kerrie Csaszar, Jessica Mullin, Christopher and David McGrath, Kelly and Gregory Repicci. She was also survived by eleven great-grandchildren. She was also pre-deceased by her brother, Louis Jordan, and one great-grandchild. Friends may call on Thursday January 11, 2007 from 4 to 8 PM at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 12, 2007 at 10 AM at St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church. Interment to follow in Putnam Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hill House, 10 Riverside Avenue, Riverside, CT 06878.
