Nancy Doolittle Stephens, Age 92, resident of River Landing at Sandy Ridge, died on Sunday, April 19th, 2015, at River Landing at Sandy Ridge.
Nancy was born April 1, 1923 in Waukegan, Illinois, a daughter of Leonard & Edith Doolittle. She attended schools in Waukegan and college at Indiana University.
On June 24th, 1944 she married Ralph Parsons Stephens from Camillus, NY. Following World War II they lived in Riverside, CT and New London, NH. In 1988 they retired to Seven Lakes, NC.
Nancy was a devoted wife & mother, a loving grandmother, an avid golfer, bridge player, and reader. While living in Riverside, CT she belonged to the Junior League, worked with a school for mentally retarded children and was a toy buyer for the Greenwich Hospital gift shop. While living in New London, NH she worked in Real Estate as a sales person & reached broker status.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Avery Edward, her sister, Elyse Mureal, and her daughter Kathy Wicher. In 2003 her husband, Ralph, died after 58 years of marriage.
Nancy is survived by her son, James Ralph Stephens & wife, Merilyn, her daughter, Kim Elyse Caisse & husband, Shawn, her son, Rand Doolittle Stephens & wife, Annette, seven grandchildren and Six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, in the Multipurpose Room at River Landing at Sandy Ridge, 1575 John Knox Rd in Colfax.
