Nora Hughes Obituary
Nora Hughes, 92, of Stamford Connecticut, passed away on February 22, 2023.
Nora was born on March 23, 1930, to Patrick and Barbara Curran in Galway, Ireland. After Nora graduated from high school, she came to the United States in 1951.
She was predeceased by her parents and her eight siblings. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John Hughes Sr., her children Barbara Gilleski and her husband Joseph, Mary Firimonte and her husband, John, and John Hughes, Jr. and his wife, Dawn and her brother, John Curran. Nora also has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 27 at St Mary's Church in Stamford, Connecticut at 10 a.m. with burial following at St Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich, Connecticut.

I feel so fortunate to have known Nora. She whole-heartedly welcomed me into your Greenwich home, emitted warmth and had a wonderful sense of Irish humor. She was a second mom to me and her kitchen/baking expertise was amazing. I can't count how many of her wonderful chocolate chip cookies and slices of lemon meringue pie I devoured.
My deepest condolences to my dear friend Mary, Barb, John, their families and my other dad, John Sr.
Rest in eternal peace, Nora. Heaven has just acquired another Angel. We will meet again.
