I fondly remember your mother Pat and her brother Jim at a very large shareholder meeting which was held at the Hyatt Dearborn in Detroit, MI. During the intermission her brother Jim approached me to chat about the warehouse operation for Kmart. Then Pat and I chatted and I conveyed to her how inpressed I was when she spoke and addressed the Board of Directors. She was asked to repeat her name and her reply was "it's not my name that is important, it's what I'm about to say!" I knew then she would be a force to deal with, bright and brilliant. We exchanged phone numbers and would have late evening phone conversations. About her trips to Biloxi and her deep concern for Lance and Babe and of course at that time her granddaughter whose mother was Shelley and her sharing tidbits of the children. She had decided to sell the house and live and move around. We lost touch and for that I regret. A very wonderful ! From the outside looking in I could see a very good mother and I know she missed Bill as she talked about him often. To her children, for her to live as long as she did, truly was a gift! She was mother first and no doubt a great business person as well.
