Scott Douglas Salamon

SCOTT DOUGLAS SALAMON, of Darien, passed away suddenly, September 13, 2009, in his Darien home. Born in Greenwich, December 25, 1969, to Hubert and Janet Salamon, he grew up and resided in Darien all his life. Scott's work career in Fairfield County was at the Lakeview Cemetery, where he managed the grounds, and he worked for the Gardener's Center in Darien. Besides these two positions, he also worked for Top-Pup in which he had a love for animals and was an asset to the business. In his younger days, Scott excelled in running and won many competitions, as well as breaking school records. Scott enjoyed the outdoors where he jogged every morning and bicycled. On cold winter days, Scott could be found taking off for the ski slopes. Scott was an excellent chef who put special touches to all his creations he prepared for family and friends. He, loved traveling, swimming, boating and kayaking. Scott is survived by his parents, Hubert H. Salamon and Janet E. Salamon of Darien; his brother, Mark T. Salamon of Norwalk; and his sister, Dawn A. Taranto and husband, John; a niece and nephew of Austin, Texas. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 pm Friday, September 18, 2009, at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch, Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, September 19, 2009, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich. Scott will be buried, at at later date, at the Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich.
