Steve Rubie Obituary

Steve Rubie passed away peacefully at his home on April 17, 2025.

He was a humble man, always quick with a smile and a humorous story and brought joy to all whom he met.

He spent 35 years as a salesman at Gridley Country Ford, cultivating countless lifelong relationships. His happiest hours were spent on the golf course at Table Mountain Golf Club, and playing pickleball with his buddies in Oroville.

Steve deeply touched all our lives with his kind and caring nature.

He was preceded in death by his elder brother David (Peggy) Rubie.

Steve is survived by his wife of 23 years, Nancy Norman; sisters Diane McCollam of Lincoln, Jeanne (Skip) Smith of Pacifica, and Janet Tranchina of Gridley; and brother James (Amber) Rubie of Chico. Steve also leaves behind his niece Tekoa (Brandon) Mendez of Elk Grove; and nephews Josiah (Laura) Smith and Jared Smith of the Bay Area, and many other nieces and nephews throughout California.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Gridley Moose Lodge at 1533 Highway 99 on May 10, 2025 at 12:30.

Come and celebrate a life well-lived by sharing stories of Steve with family members and others to commemorate the wonderful life of a truly great man who will be missed by all.
