The last I will remember of Fernando is him smiling and driving off with Kathy after our run on a rainy PT Friday at Barrigada Reserve Center before his passing. I will always remember him as a mentor and someone who did his best to help the other soldiers. Im blessed to have had the chance to spend time with him prior to his leaving. Kathy, boys & Stella,
Fernando (#12) was a true leader that we will always remember him for. He Leads in the line up as the lead off batter and when he gets on base, you can expect that he will score. He was also our Outfield Leader and would call out positioning because he knew the batters and how to play them. And at the same time, he was in the best spot on the baseball field to see everything. Fernando was like a binado...fast, smooth & with judgement that was so precise when those baseballs were hit to the outfield. He was awesome to watch and a talented player that entertained you. He was a true GIANT Champion.
We love him and we miss him.
