Richard Yoxtheimer Obituary
MANSFIELD: Richard L. Yoxtheimer, 71, of Mansfield, passed Tuesday, January 24, 2012 following a brief illness.
Richard was born February 10, 1940 in Lodi, Ohio to James and Marie (Whitmore) Yoxtheimer. He attended Crossroads Community Church. He was a mechanic, specializing in motorcycles and foreign vehicles, and had owned and operated several businesses over the years, including a Texaco station and Yamaha of Mansfield. Richard had many passions in life. He had a passion for motorcycles, enjoyed riding and racing them. He was also passionate about his family, was an incredible father, grandfather, and friend. He was a good provider for his family and had an excellent sense of humor. He had achieved lifetime membership status with the American Motorcyclist Association and was a member of the NRA.
He is survived by five children, Vicki (Jim) Smith, Sonya Steele, Jerilyn Dailey, Rich (Mary Jo) Yoxtheimer, and David "Rusty" (Gwyn) Yoxtheimer; eleven grandchildren, Jessica Yoxtheimer Lewis, Jeremiah Yoxtheimer, Cody Johnson, Nicholas and Patrick Yoxtheimer, Alex and Cassandra Dailey, Taylor and Blake Yoxtheimer, and Joel and Elise Yoxtheimer; nine great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Janice Tyson; one brother, James Yoxtheimer; one sister, Patricia Yoxtheimer-Gay; and many close and special lifelong friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Hodge Gay.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert "Hardrock" Caldwell officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, Ohio 44805.

I'm so grateful of Dick's influence on my husband. I believe it is one of the main reasons he is such a loving father to our children. This week I also lost the reason why I'm proud to call myself a Yoxtheimer. My greatest regret is that Joel and Elise didn't have more time with him.
