December 20, 1931 - April 22, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jerry H Cole, a loving husband and father and a true friend to many.
Born December 20, 1931 in Calumet City, IL and departed this life at the age of 93 on April 22, 2025 in Green Valley, AZ. Lived in Lansing, IL for 50+ years prior to Green Valley. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Helen; children: Kevin (Karen) Cole, Karen (Al) Pufahl, Kris (Gus) Wallek, Philip Cole; grandchildren: Matthew, Bradley, Kourtney, Kayleigh, Austin, Logan; great-grandchildren: Fiona, Adele, Max.
He graduated from Southern Illinois University with Communications degree. His marketing/journalism/advertising/sales career spanned over the years serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Ticonderoga CVA-14, Chicago Tribune, Progressive Grocers, Swift & Co, Johns Pizza Co, Cole Communications, and 30 years at Sawyer, Ferguson, Walker.
He was a member of Merchandising Executive Club, Ticonderoga Veterans Assoc, Southern Illinois Alumni, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Masons Arcadia Palace Lodge, Kiwanis, Shriners of Orak, Calumet Clowns (Chatter), St Ann's Church-Lansing, IL, Our Lady of the Valley-Green Valley, AZ. He volunteered his time with Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Veterans, Green Valley Sheriffs Auxiliary and Green Valley Stamp Club. He loved to write and wrote his first book in his 80's.
He was cremated and will be laid to rest at the Abraham Lincoln National Military Cemetery near Joliet.
