John "Jack" Francis Hecker

John "Jack" Hecker, 90, of Green Valley, AZ, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 8th, after a brief illness.
Born in 1935 in Cleveland, OH, Jack was the youngest child of Aurthur William (AW) Hecker and Frances Colvin Hecker. He graduated from University School in 1954, where he notably captained an undefeated soccer team, and later attended Colgate University before serving his country in the Army.
Jack dedicated many years to the aerospace and defense industries, a field he dearly loved, appreciating its contributions to the betterment of the nation.
In 1992, he moved to Green Valley, AZ, a place he truly cherished.
His life was rich with interests and talents, including a passion for golf where he shot his age multiple times in his 60s, and a love for cooking; his Sunday night dinners were famous right up until his passing. A loyal fan of Cleveland sports teams, he most recently cultivated a passion for singing mushy love songs, showcasing a gifted voice and enjoying many great friends on Green Valley's karaoke circuit.
Typically the life of the party, Jack lived a full life characterized by his quick wit, humor, and gratitude. He passed away surrounded by friends.
He is survived by his children, John "Jack" Hecker of Wayzata, MN, and Constance Simonson of Pepper Pike, Ohio; his stepdaughter, Tona Hendricks of Lancaster, Ohio; and his beloved grandchildren, Kate and Adeline.He was married in 1959 to Electa Taber Horth and later to T. "Kay" Hecker in 1990.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Aurthur William (AW) Hecker and Frances Colvin Hecker and brothers Aurthur and Peter.
He will be greatly missed.
A night of song in his memory will be held in Green Valley, AZ, this fall to celebrate his life.
