Richard Brown Obituary

Richard Cameron "Cam" Brown

May 15, 1969 - October 25, 2025

Richard Cameron Brown, affectionately known as "Cam" or "Browny," was born on May 15, 1969, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada, and was called to his eternal home on October 25, 2025, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, following a motorcycle accident. He was the devoted husband of Christina Brown and the proud father of Rhyan and Logan Brown.

Cam made a profound impact on everyone blessed to know him. His life was defined by love, compassion, loyalty, and integrity. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched.

A talented and passionate hockey player, Cam began his career in the Western Hockey League with the Brandon Wheat Kings and appeared in a game for the Vancouver Canucks. Over his 16-year professional career, he played in the American Hockey League, International Hockey League, and the Czech Extraliga. Most notably, he became a cornerstone of the ECHL, skating for the Columbus Chill, Erie Panthers, Baton Rouge Kingfish, and Gwinnett Gladiators. In recognition of his leadership, dedication, and lasting influence on the sport, Cam was inducted into the ECHL Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2010.

After retiring from hockey in 2006, Cam continued to bring the same commitment and excellence to his work as a Critical Environment Technician with Quality Technical Services in Atlanta, where he served faithfully for 17 years.

Beyond his career, Cam found his greatest joy with his family and on the open road. His motorcycle was his sanctuary - a place of peace, reflection, and freedom. If it wasn't snowing, raining, or below 30 degrees, Cam was riding.

Cam is survived by his beloved wife, Christina; daughter Rhyan; son Logan; step-son Jake (Cooley); step-daughter Moriah (Shoop); and cherished grandsons Lincoln and Brock. He is also survived by his loving mother, Dar; brother Ed and sister-in-law Karien; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who adored him. He was preceded in death by his father, Blake Brown.

A Celebration of Life for close friends and family was held on Saturday, November 1, at 4:00 PM in the Gas South Arena, Level 1 Room.

A public remembrance and moment of silence took place prior to the Atlanta Gladiators game at 7:10 PM, followed by an afterglow gathering at the Westin Lobby Bar.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Nans Kids https://www.nanskids.com/donate (Atlanta Gladiators Foundation), honoring Cam's enduring connection to the sport and community he loved.

I was so saddened to hear of Cam's passing. I'm a long time Milwaukee Admirals fan - and of all the players coming and going here - Cam is on my top 5 favorite list. I have so many great memories of his time in Milwaukee, and trips to see him play when he was on some other teams. My sympathies to the whole family, he was a wonderful man. May your memories help carry you thru. Faith Horn
