MERZ (Baker), Betty J. Age 84 of Hamilton passed away Thursday September 10, 2015 at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born May 7, 1931 in Irvine, Kentucky the daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Wells) Baker. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1950 and on January 20, 1951 she married Jerry L. Merz, who preceded her in death on September 9, 2014. Mrs. Merz retired as a supervisor from Ohio Casualty Insurance Company on March 31, 1993 after 31 years of service. She was loved by all of her co-workers. She was a member of Ross Community United Methodist Church, a member of Fort Hamilton Chapter 568 Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Hamilton High-Twelve Club. Mrs. Merz was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her son Terry D. (Kathy) Merz; three grandchildren Jason (Molly) Merz, Justin (Kathryn) Merz, and Meaghan (Mike) Henderson; four great grandchildren Maxwell Bernard Merz, Mason Baker Merz, Hayden Drake, and Addyson Riley Merz; one sister Katie Hoskins; and her sister in law Beverly Merz. She was also preceded in death by three sisters Louise Davis, Loretta Fowler, and Irene Risinger. Visitation 1-3 PM Sunday at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday September 14, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Grant Montgomery, officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
