Carl Schiefer Obituary


News Death Notice

SCHIEFER, Carl C. age 54 of Oxford, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Aug. 5. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ on January 31, 1957 to Charles J. Schiefer and Anne (Fussell) Schiefer-Dobis. On Oct. 5, 1991, Carl married Margaret (Anne) McClellan at St. Mary Church, Oxford. He served in the U.S. Army and had been employed by McCullough Hyde Hospital and Miami University. Carl loved the outdoors, pheasant and duck hunting, and fishing with family and friends. He was also an avid Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law Adna F. McClellan. Carl is survived by his wife Anne; sons, Ian, Roth and Eric; sisters Dawn (Rick) Joyner and Jacqueline Schiefer-Sabella; mother-in-law Helen McClellan; special aunt Florence Faust; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Carl was a friend to everyone he met and helped anyone in need. He had the ability to put a smile on your face. The family would like to thank McCullough Hyde Oncology and the nurses from Vitas Hospice who worked with Carl. Funeral services were held Tuesday August 9. Carl was laid to rest in the Oxford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Vitas Hospice, 11500 Northlake Dr., Suite 400, Cincinnati, OH 45249. Condolences may be sent online to www.smithoglefuneralhome.com. The Smith & Ogle Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
