My heart breaks knowing I do not have you here to call or get your calls.I know that you are there with Mom and Scott and grandma and grandpa and you all are looking down and seeing my tears. I love you and one day I will be there with you. I love you brother more than life. You are missed and always will be.

I remember Carl laughing like that in this photo when I met him at a reunion in Bloomington. He told me he spent his honeymoon there I think.

Carl gave me this pic a couple of years ago of him and Stan. It meant so much to me and means more now.

Carl was the oldest of all my cousins. I don't ever remember him getting mad or impatient with any of us. He used to let us go downstairs to his room and listen to records. He never minded if we danced on his bed - and we did. You were loved by so many and will be missed by all. Until we meet again - Love, Jenny

Gosh, what a great nephew he was. He and I had the same sense of humor, he laughed at everything I said and vise versa. He was the first of many nephew's that I have. We were very close in age. Mom was still having children when his dad and mother had him. He loved his grandma Sewell so much. He called her Ma. Thankfully he lived next door to her for a period of time when she was in her 80's and lived alone. He would cook for her. I'm very thankful to him for that, as I lived out of state and wasn't there for her as much as I would like to have been. I never saw him angry or unhappy. He was always fun loving, easy going and soft hearted. So sad that his health issues got the best of him. He was loved by many!!

If I could write a story It would be the greatest ever told
Of a kind and loving guy named Carl Sewell
Who had a heart of gold

If I could write a million pages
Id still be unable to say, just how
Much your loved and missed
Every single day
I will remember all the laughter and memories you gave
When I heard that you had left us
I was simply blown away!
How could that be possible?
We were laughing yesterday.

Your dry wit and your humor
Your ‘grin' and devilish smile
No one knew what you'd do next
You had one unique style!

Oh how I'd anticipate seeing you
How I waited for your quips
You had a truly special gift.

Always there for everyone
So dependable, sincere
Kind, gentle and caring
Felt good to have you near.

So, my dear departed friend
I'll think of you each day
Peace and rest and comfort
I hope you've found today.

Your last words to me
Will help my tears to dry
You hugged me and said I love you, but you never
said good bye...
