Family-Placed Obituary
RATLIFF, Casey Myers Age 27 of Lindenwald passed away March 6, 2008. The Champ was born August 18, 1980 in Hamilton, the son of Gary and Richelle (Myers) Ratliff. Casey was a champion fighter and physical trainer at Ideal Fitness. Casey was 1998 graduate of Hamilton High School and was attending the University of Cincinnati, recently making the Dean's List and preparing to graduate this June. Casey was a loving father to his one son, Preston Scott Ratliff who was the most precious gift from God and adored by his Dad. He is survived by his son, Preston Scott Ratliff and his mother, Stephanie Ratliff; parents, Gary and Richelle Ratliff; brother, Tommy Ratliff; sister, Krystal Ratliff; aunts and uncles, Pam Novak, Sandy Schultheiss, Patty Ratliff, Dave and Lona Ratliff, Dan Ratliff and Chuck and Desiree Ratliff; nieces and nephews, Cai, Karrine, Kaylee, Mia, Thomas, Branson, and Summer; many cousins, friends, and fans. Casey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Georgia Myers, and Charles and Betty Ratliff; uncle, John Ratliff; and cousin, Davey Ratliff. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - until time of service (7 p.m.), Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd. Fairfield. You have my deepest sympathies. I knew Casey from Raymond Walters College, where he was a student in several of the German courses I teach. I had the opportunity to watch Casey improve as a student over the past several years, and was happy that he was planning on traveling to Germany for study abroad. This year, he was in the accelerated German course, where he was a respected member of the class. I know I speak for the class when I say we miss him.

We are so saddened by Casey's passing. We just came to know him from Ideal Fitness, but we immediately liked him and he helped us often with using the exercise equipment correctly. He was such a fine young man. Truly he is missed!

I thought I'd sign this guest book just to say that Casey was an amazing person. Though I didn't know him too well, he was always very accepting of me when I was around and made me feel welcome and happy to be in his company. I had only known Casey for a few months - he worked at the fitness center where I was a member. But anytime I saw him, we chatted - usually about UFC, but lately more about his studies at UC. He was always upbeat and very friendly.
It seems strange going to work out at Ideal knowing that I will never see Casey again. My 14 year old daughter who ocassionally accompanies me on my workouts will miss the man who she once described as "hot". I, on the other hand, will miss the kid with the kind heart that treated others with respect and brought happiness to those around him.

Casey was a unique individual, a natural born leader, a scholar, and the type of person who would do anything for his friends and family. Where ever Casey went he stood out, he was well respected and had a countless number of friends.
