Colton LOGAN Obituary

LOGAN, Colton Colton Patrick Logan lost his battle with addiction and passed away at Kettering Hospital surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 31, 2017. Colton was born on May 1, 1992. He is survived by his parents, Tim and Teri Logan; sister, Shelby Logan; grandmother, Judie McKitrick; and grandfather, John Logan; aunts and uncles: David McKitrick (Valerie), Danny McKitrick (Jeanne), Tracey Logan, Sean Dahlinghaus (Sofia), Steve Logan, Angel Stiffler (Dave), Christy Logan (Bob), Michelle Gannon (Art), Matt Logan (Patti) and many wonderful cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Anneita Logan, grandfather, Mel McKitrick, cousin, Daniel McKitrick and aunt, Tammy Dahlinghaus. From a young age Colton was drawn to music, art and creative writing. His exceptional artistic abilities were recognized early on by many of his teachers. He played in a band and even wrote his own music. He was an intelligent and creative old-soul who could articulate beautifully through his writing and art. He even had dreams of becoming a teacher someday. He cared about his friends that he loved. Colton had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his dog, Scout. If love could have saved Colton, he would still be here. He is forever loved by so many. While he was unable to overcome his addiction, he fought a hard battle. The viewing will be held on Friday, September 8th from 6-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. The funeral mass is on Saturday, September 9th at 10:00 a.m., with a viewing at 9:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 272 Bainbridge St, Dayton, OH 45402 In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the FOA Foundation (Families of Addicts) in Colton's name. The address is 425 N. Findlay Street, Dayton, OH 45404, www.foafamilies.org We would especially like to thank the Kettering ICU Cardiac Staff. They were exceptional.

Colton was a beautiful young man, who graced our home during his young years at St. Albert at our home in Kettering . He was kind, polite, gentle, and an intelligent family friend . My heart goes out to his wonderful family and to all of those who loved and admired Colton. From the Family of Mary Salmon (Elliot, Elyse, and Nicholas Gorski - now living in the state of Michigan). God Bless the friends and family of this extraordinary young man.

I want you to know you will breath again. It may take six months and you will say I can breath. Today you don't even realize you aren't taking the normal breath. The passing of Coulton is a great loss for all. A smart, talented young man that his friends and family won't get to enjoy. As a mother we cry for what we won't get to enjoy with our beautiful son. I walk beside you in loss of a son. you will laugh again and have joy. This I can promise!

Teri, you may not remember us, but we met you at an FOA event a while back and then saw you at the recent Rally. Only those of us in the addiction community can understand the agony of seeing a loved one cope with this deadly disease. We are so very sorry for your loss, and hope the knowledge that he is finally at peace with our heavenly Father will help you through this most difficult time. You will be in our prayers.

I only knew Colton through his grandmother Judie but my heart aches for all of you. I have been praying for Colton and sharing his story of your unconditional love for him. May his struggles through life, during and after his accident, his recovery, and now his death be a witness and blessing to others who have similar issues. May the good memories of Colton give you comfort through these next days, weeks and months.
