Family-Placed Obituary
PECK, Earl R. Earl R. Peck, age 88, of Middletown, died at his home on November 11, 2007. He was born April 25, 1919 in Middletown, the son of Asa Cleveland Peck and Catherine Magdalene (Teckemeyer) Peck. Earl was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church for many years. He served in the Army during World War II. Worked as a shipper in the Spiral Pipe Department for Armco Steel Company, retiring after 33 years of service. He is survived by one daughter, Carol "Sandi" (Carl) Shiflett of Middletown; one son, Donald (Jill) Peck of Cincinnati; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Missy, Mark, Amy, Angela, and Ashlee; four great grandchildren; five sisters, Marie Atkinson of Morrow, Betty Tutt of Sardinia, Kathaleen Murphy and Mary Armitage both of Middletown, Helen Wills of Beavercreek; two brothers, Wilbur Peck of Middletown and Albert Peck of Miamisburg; and a special friend, Russell Amburgey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charity Gertrude "Gertie" Peck on July 30, 2007; his parents; one sister, Dorothy Wilder; and three brothers, Walter, Robert and Chester Peck. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Anthony Caruana officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park with military honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

"Daddy Earl", you will be sadly missed as a dear friend of our family for many years. You were my father's closest friend and Army Buddy. I Can never remember a special event that you and Gertie weren't there.. Family picnics as children were especially fun when you would make your wonderful homemade ice cream!

Our hope is that Earl finds everlasting peace with Gertie and that the family can take comfort in knowing that they are forever together. While we never met them, we are blessed to count their granddaughter, Andrea, as our friend.

Earl and Gertie were my next door neighbors for 13 years and are without a doubt the most wonderful people on Gods earth. We will miss them both.
